Central Saanich - Daffodil Capital of Canada

Got out during some crazy weather today and got a few great frames of the fields of daffodil flowers here in Central Saanich. Apparently Central Saanich BC is known as the "Daffodil Capital of Canada", and grows the most Daffodils anywhere in Canada, with over 18 million blooms annually, the majority of which are grown by Vantreight Farms, a five generation family farm.

It went from sun to rain to hail in a matter of minutes which made for some great images and dramatic light, I just wish I'd had better shoes on - flip flops are not made for trudging through farmers fields! Here's a few of my daffodil images from the Central Saanich area I shot today:

Even with this rain and hail, it's starting to feel like summer isn't too far off. I'm looking forward to it, and to bringing more of my photos your way. Hope you're enjoying them - I'm enjoying sharing them!

Cheers, Josh
